Akai Deep Impact and a Russian Big Muff.
I would say search, but this song in particular actually hasn't been discussed too much here to my recollection.
I need to listen to that song again to figure out what's used on it. It's been a long time since I've listened to Origin of Symmetry. IIRC, it's just some kind of distortion, isn't it? Whatever it is, it's on his pedalboard from that era.

Sorry guys, It's the Digitech Bass synth wah.
I would REALLY like to see your source for that information.
That is, of course, assuming you're saying it seriously.
Edit: Nice save. Remember, the BSW only came into play POST-Absolution.![]()
I'd say something like an octaver and some type of distortion/fuzz. Look at FuryMuso's gear vid on youtube, he explains the effect sound for that song and how he gets it in the vid. For the most part, basically you need an octaver pedal set to one octave down, and some type of Fuzz or Distortion. Look on Musewiki for a better description on what he uses.
I have a theory which I came up with today. I think that City Of Delusion might be the BSW with some distortion.

Ah. The discussions about this man's rig are endless, and for good reason.![]()
Why doesn't someone just ask him?
You first.
I'll nudge him to man up and join the forums in October so he can raise his hands to the restless masses and proclaim what he uses.
Or, perhaps, send us on a grand treasure hunt to find out, as Matt did with United States of Eurasia.
