My son is coming up to canada at the end of april and was looking to buy something cheap to toy around with and have it shipped to him so he can bring it up with him.
Would love to hear some testimonials.
They have alot of interesting beater basses and amps.
Nevermind. Finally got through on the phone to ask a question about shipping and was told i cant pay by credit card and ship to alternate address.

I know you said nevermind, but I've had both good and bad experiences with gear from Music Go Round.

I'd be leery of buying a speaker cabinet from them. Any store I've been in has so many rattling snare drums that you can't hear a blown or dying speaker.

Beyond that, I've gotten some amazing deals there too.

The stores are franchises so you don't have the generous return policy that you do with Guitar Center or similar.

Having written that, I never hesitate to stop at any MGR I come near as they almost always have some old piece of gear that I used to drool over as a teenager in the '70s. Far more fun than walking into a GC or Sam Ash.

I've done well enough there. My first transaction was in 1988.

I wouldn’t buy anything online from the crooks at the MGR in Fort Worth. My son saved up to but a bass that “had no issues” and he received a bass with mangled frets. Sure, they except returns but minus the $120 for shipping both ways. These guys are despicable criminals, they concealed the damage and misrepresented its condition and did nothing to rectify the problem. No apology, nothing. The lowest of the low. Complete slime. From what I hear this is pretty much how they all operate. That sucks that they didn't disclose the conditions of the frets. I'm no luthier/technician but it looks like there is plenty of fret left after they're filed/crowned/polished etc.

I've had nothing but positive experiences at both their Greenfield WI and Kenosha WI locations.
