And I really need my dose!!!

Since most of you are older and more knowledgeable I'll open up this thread in search of stronger tunes...

I am mostly into doom/stoner kinda music and also into jazz,fusion,blues etc.

My main "drug" though has become everything that has to do with experimental sounds, bands like "Tera Melos" or
"Samsara Blues Experiment" mainly and anything else that can be as weird and experimental.

That right there gentlemen IS the future of music, and not electro/dance/house/jdfsja....:spit:

Electronic music composed by one man lacking completely the essence of teamwork and above all jammin is just another use for a pc.

It's not that I despise that kind of music...In fact I even like d'n'b...But then again it IS experimental, probably the only type of electro that has it.

Anyway, went outta topic here, I just want us to exchange our knowledge and opinions on mostly experimental music...

You don't know much about Electronic music, do you?
That's OK, it doesn't matter here.

Check out Magma. Absolutely brilliant Zeuhl band (they're the guys who started the whole Zeuhl thing). I guess the album you should check out here is Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh. Fantastic 70s prog. Nothing you'll sing along to (the lyrics aren't in English, but in Kobaian, an artificial language constructed for the band), but enough groove-tastic bass parts to keep you satistfied. The album really flows together as one cohesive piece, so it's excellent for listening to in one sitting. Also, it sounds really "modern" (to me, at least), more so than many records of that time. In a good way, though, trust me.
Check out maudlin of the Well also, they're great avant-garde metal and they have their album "Part The Second" available for free on their website (and it is really, really good).

As for fuzzed out stoner/doom stuff, I'd recommend the usual. Sunn O))), Earth, and Om all include different levels of drone and Salome is an awesome sludge band which incorporates some noise elements, especially on the album "Terminal". Somehow, magically, they pull of having no bassist.

Check 'em out if you haven't already.

Also, Boris. Boris is always needed (take a listen to Amplifier Worship).

I know the ones you posted (really good stuff ;) ),
except magma.They sound interesting and really weird!

I think you don't listen to a lot of electronic music--i'd say 95% of all electronic music stems from experimenting around in the studio and seeing what comes up, and then builds from there. The other 5% is the straight-to-the-masses stuff that most people dislike, just like a lot of pop, jazz, rock, etc. A lot of people get hung up on the drum beat, but that's the skeleton of the song--the rest of it is all about finding new sounds, new rhythms, new techniques, etc. Check out IDM for instance, I have seen IDM DJs who make completely random drumbeats and generative melodies...it's all experimental. My suggestion is to find an indie DJ and hangout with him/her for a few days and they will open your mind to a whole new world of music that most musicians completely shun.

I just came to Canada and I haven't made any connections yet, let alone the fact I dont have my bass with me....:(

Also I just realized that I posted Fantomas while Ursus Tyrannus posted it before me...

Canada? that sucks. You can always read blogs--I like to hit up createdigitalmusic.com. They put some pretty creative stuff online, as well as cool gear and stuff. Also, youtube is pretty good for finding good IDM and stuff--there are a lot of experimentalists out there :)

I know it's just that I just started getting into the whole thing and though I knew of some I though this whould be a good way to find some more, and actually as it turns out, it was a great idea :D

Why should it suck that I am in Canada?
Gotta tell you I come from Greece and ,despite what one might think, it's a really BAD place to live...

Oh no good chap, it sure as hell isn't.

Try checking out some contemporary classical, or this new wave of isolationatist ambient/glitch (eg. Alva Noto, Frank Bretschneider, Philip Jeck, Porn Sword Tobacco etc.)
