music man rd 100-tone w/ bass cab?

i have an old 100 watt Music MAN RD head. i was wondering if anyone thought i may obtain a good tone if i ran this head w/ a decent bass cab(Ampeg or Ashdown perhaps).anyone familiar w/ this head will know that it has a solid-state pre and tube power section which i'm thinking could be sweet for bass.

I use a MM HD 130 as my main amp. Its the bomb. The greatest feature of this amp is the fact the speaker out puts are wired in series. You might check and see if that is the case on the RD 100. I can run up to 4 8ohm or 4 4ohm speakers with my amp no sweat thanks to the series speaker wiring and 4 or 8 ohm switching.
