Music Man StingRay Club | PART FIVE

I'll post better pics later, of this one and my four string....

1/16" (4/64) is too large, so 5/64 won't work for me. I'm going to hit home depot & get another 1/16th tonight on the odd chance my 1/16th is mismarked.
Finally got replacement hex wrench set today, sure enough, the 1/16" fit perfectly, my other set's alleged 1/16 was somehow either mismarked or a manufacturing defect (cheapo Chinese set from Amazon a year or two ago, minimal use so it isn't wear related). Very relieved the bridge screws aren't stripped or swapped with oddball size, was able to get my intonations/string height reasonably accurate without having to deal with another pro setup. /replaced strings. Digging my new (to me) SLO Special!

Apart from offering a single humbucker versus a dual (for quite some time now), the only significant changes I am aware of occurred in 2018 with the advent of the stingray specials. Lighter hardware and tuners, different pup magnets and a refined pre-amp. Also generally lighter basses. The more granular details are out there by virtue of a quick google search.

View attachment 4080995 I'm looking for info on this StingRay body style. What year/years was this style produced? Was it only available on 5 strings? Thanks in advance for any info. Also, any links to pages that have a list of year by year changes in features and options would be appreciated.

Try this link out to see the difference between the Stingray 5 2018 and to date, vs pre-2018. Hope this helps!

Use the serial to find out the birthdate at Serial Number Database | Ernie Ball Music Man I believe the serial for your is located on the neck plate. If it isn't on the neck plate, it should be on the bridge.
