Music Programs for the computer

My Windows Media Player (WMP) has some sort of a corruption. It doesn't work all the time and I've wasted more blank CDs than I care to. I've checked for updates but I have all the latest version. Can any one recommend a new program for me that I can purchase? I need some thing thats easy to use and is really reliable. Also Itunes sucks. I cant take music that I downloaded on Itunes and send them to WMP. I first have to burn a disc with all of the music that I puchased, then from that disc load them onto the WMP if I want to make a CD with the new stuff and some old stuff.

you're not really understanding how to use your software it seems. you shouldn't have to do that with iTunes, which by the way, is the greatest music playing program i've ever used, stick with that for playing your music.

for iTunes, you'll find music you import at C:\...\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

you can move the files directly from there.

use WMP for video, not audio, the program is too clunky for that, although the new one is oooooo k, not great but ok.
as for burning. get yourself a copy of Nero 7 Ultra, its like either $40 or 40 minutes on Limewire.

I did not get the program from having an Ipod. I don't know if it matters but I got the program from Apple through the internet. Im sure you may be right in saying that I'm not really sure how to use my program. I'm definitly computer retarted.

No, you're right that you can't buy music from iTMS and use it in another program (or an mp3 player other than the iPod). Thanks a lot, Apple!

I highly doubt that a problem with Windows Media Player is the problem with your CD burning, especially if it works some of the time. Unless WMP is actually crashing on you (like the program closes unexpectedly and stuff), it's more likely to be your CD burner itself.

I use iTunes to burn music. I do not, however, buy music with it. I either buy the CD from a store, or I download singles from limewire, or the artists' site.

The software came with my Apple, and I guess I'm just really accustomed to it now, and know my way around it a little too well.

Im not 100% sure what your looking for but the program I use to play my music is Winamp. Its an awesome free program that I have used for the past 3-4 years, and will probably use for quite some time. To burn CD's I use MusicMatch, also a very nice program that allows you to play music on it aswell, it came installed on my Dell Computer and I highly recommend it.

Yes. It came with Music Match but I installed a new windows program on my computer and the Music Match, or the version that I had, was not compatable with it. I think I got rid of XP for another windows program. I may go and buy a new Music Match for this program. I really need to find out which one I'm using now. Maybe I got rid of Millenium and now I have XP. I'm not sure.

awwwww, apple, why you gotta be hatin when i'm tryin to give you's a good rap. damn. i didn't know you couldn't put the files on a different player. I do think you can covert them from AAC to MP3 though, and after that you might be able to.

Winamp is a great program, the reason I've fallen for iTunes is the number of columns of sorting information. Much like Winamps Media Library.

I still vote for Nero for the burning though. It'll do all sorts of video and audio conversions for you if you want it to (like making a dvd playable video cd).

I did not know that! I've been importing them as .aac's, just 'cause I could. I suppose it might make more sense to switch to .mp3's!

While I agree that Winamp is a great program for both audio and video, I think the most recent versions have become far too bloated. If anyone else feels that's the case, you can grab any older version of that, or many other older program versions at www.oldversion.com. The site seems to be down right now, but I've found it's periodically down. Try again later, and you should be able to get on.
