Musician's Friend Extended Warranty?

I'm looking to buy a new bass (EBMM Sterling).
Street price for a new instrument is the same no matter where I go. However, I did notice Musician's Friend offers an extended coverage plan that includes accidental damage.

Has anyone purchased this type of plan?
Have you ever made a claim? How was it handled?
Worth it?

I've never bought an extended warranty unless I had good reason to think there was a flaw or problem with the item I was buying - normally used.

Remember, you're betting that the item will fail, and do so after the factory warranty period expires. They're betting it won't.

Would they be selling the warranty if they didn't definitely know the odds were in their favor? I don't think so.
