The Gearheads email is awesome. If you are looking for something, and musicians friend has it, you should definitely hit them up with [email protected] . I just put in a big order and they were able to help out a lot. It always depends on what you are getting, and as some have said who you get through the email, but I got Katey and she hooked it up. I got the following reply from Gearheads after requesting a better price on an Ampeg 210AV. - "I apologize, but we have no discounts available from our list prices at this time. We aren’t able to offer any discounts aside from valid coupons or price matches." - Anyone else have this kind of response?
From what I have been told, and take no offense is that musicians friend is owned by guitar center, and they are basically there liquidation of returned gear from customers that have had issues with it that had found some sort of reason that they had to return it to the store. the article said that they repackage the gear and resell it at a discount.. this could translate into two different things, bad defective gear or premium gear that people couldn't dial in. Just what I have seen around the web, and my cousin who worked at a guitar center on the east coast told me the same thing fyi
