Just no shorts and black socks. No. No. No. Not ever. Black socks must be largely concealed excepting incidental moments when the pants cuff flashes the viewer with it. Still ppl wear them with sandals (HOT! HOT!), usually while mowing the yard, in shorts, showing off more pale white terrain than the Arctic after a snowstorm. It’s heinously ugly. Just stop.
Jennifer Lopez couldn’t pull off that look (ok, SHE could, but you or I or any of us mere mortals hav

As always - dress for the gig.

Black tie/wedding, then black pants, black shoes, and black socks.
Super Bowl party? Team colors, and likely white sneakers, white tube socks, and team colors, or team socks.
80's - socks don't matter, you wear boots or high tops. MAYBE sparkly sox.
70 Glam? Short shorts and pantyhose, with platforms - again sparkly is a given.
Goth/Doom - fishnets.
Southern rock? Realtree camo

Be professional no matter what. It is rarely the color - but the context.

I mean really?

That'd be 33 1/4 inches of black socks.
