Are you sure? I know he sang backing vocals on recordings but I'm not sure he ever toured with the band.

He joined after they were up and running, was a recording and touring member, and wrote/sang lead on a couple of their hits.

I dunno...wasn't it around Katy Lied when McDonald showed up with Steely Dan? In my mind, they were not a "band" at that point...basically Fagen/Becker with hired guns.
When did SD stop touring/playing live? Before McDonald, IIRC.

He was actually known as a guitarist before a singer, right? A big time studio guy.

And a fine bass player he was. I saw them at East Carolina University soon after their first album was released. Kenny stayed in the background and only came out to sing lead on a few songs, but he was a very accomplished bass player. All and all, I was really surprised at this concert, since I was not a big fan of the group.

Tony Iommi was in Jethro Tull for about 2 weeks. He appears with them on the Rolling Stones Rock 'n Roll Circus.

There's a story that goes with that...was Iommi hired to "perform"(fake it) for that Rock 'n' Roll Circus thing? You know, somebody quit, somebody hired as the replacement could not make it, etc.

It slips my mind too that Jimmy Page was in The Yardbirds.

IIRC, Page was hired to play bass (initially).

Denny Laine of Paul McCartney's Wings was in the early version of the Moody Blues. "Go Now" was his hit with them.

That was the 1st one that came to mind when I saw this thread.

Wow, that looks like Dee Murray (Elton John) on bass. I'm not sure Dee recorded the track or if this is an official Scandal line up. Maybe they needed some bodies for the video?
