Musicman Big Al Club

Jason!... kinda funny. I bought my 1st Big Al from "stflbn" and now after trading with you I've got a white one exactly like the one he bought to replace the one he sold to me : )

Heh... that's funny once you sort it out...

I'm determined to be monogomous with this White Big Al 5 for a while. Still taking a very relic'd and modded PJ to gigs as a backup, but I'm lost on a 4-string. So it's only there if something tragic happens to Big Al.

And I'm still looking for a White Pearloid pickguard to trade for my Tort one.

I blame you for starting my Big Al Quest. Yours was my first Big Al purchase and now I have three : )

I'll be watching to see what yours looks like with a white pearloid pickguard. I like shell... but white pearloid will probably look super classy.

I'll take a family pic this weekend, as Big Al #3 (Olive Gold SSS) arrives Friday : )

Just got my hands on a Black SSS from GC.com. I got it for a stellar price too, $1224.96 + tax. It was sourced from a store in GA (not sealed but in mint condition). It had one sticky button (neck pu) that I fixed by filing the hole in the pickguard a little bigger.

Overall...I LOVE this bass. I cannot wait to get home and play it again!

Gotta love these Big Al's!

I had been one the fence for quite awhile admiring the look of them.
Then broke down and sold off one of the rays to grab this As New Minty 2010 sss 4 Cabernet Pearl and rosewood Al recently.

Loved it so much instantly.
I am now selling off my coveted 30th Anniversary Ray to buy me another Big Al.
I know most consider me crazy for this...But oh well...throw caution to the wind and let her rip!! :D hahaha!

This Big Al, I have been watching online now for about a year. Worked out a better price with the store and soon she will be on the big brown UPS truck heading my way.
2010 Big Al sss4 in Pearl White, with matching headstock and Maple fretboard.

**** pics of both basses are taken by the sellers, I will take some when time allows

The White Pearl Big Al showed up on the big brown truck today. :hyper:
This is one sweet bass.
The white pearl and pearloid look great together. The maple board and neck are a really pale shade which is awesome.
Plays like a Dream.
Grand Central Music in Minnesota set it up perfect and it arrived that way.
Sooooo.... Sold off a beautiful bass to get one...guess all is even :D

Yes Yes Yes ! I picked up a Big Al this week from a friend of mine, locally. White w/ a burnt orange pickguard. (pictures to follow). But I have already decided to switch to a white pearloid pick guard. Question (1) do any of you have flats on your Big Als, and (2) how does one get to join the big Al Club - I mean, do ya gotta know somebody or something ?

White Pearloid an a White bass always looks awesome.

I hear that Olive Gold may be making a come back starting next year.

I Hope they bring back Olive Gold and True Gold.
Two of my favorite EBMM finishes.

I really think EBMM should adopt the policy that G&L has.
Where you can buy ANY G&L body style in Bass or Guitar in ANY of their finishes at any time. And ANY of their fretboard options as well.

Due to EBMM limiting how you can ONLY order a Big AL or a Bongo or Stingray in limited offered colors, they keep me and I am sure many others from buying new basses from them year after year.....They are hurting their own sales. Also EBMM will not let you order a Big Al with Ebony board....

What I want is a Big Al...4sss.
In True Gold...Ebony board...matching headstock...
I would order it today if they would let me :( :eyebrow:

Big Al came home from the hospital. Nothing serious, just got his neck adjusted... and new strings (Chrome flats).
Picked up from Brian VW via ProjectApollo. Thanks guys !
I like the lightweight body, the electronics, the passive vs. active (oh yeah, that would be the electronics), the engineering and the technology! The oiled gunstock neck. ..Gotta do something about that pickguard tho.

May I have a number, please ?
