Musicman Bongo finally arrived today!

In my experience being a Bongoloid for almost 7 or so years, the Bongo specializes in big, clean if not boomy, modern tones. But the EQ on it is very very flexible and useful, as well as the different pickup positions. As Sterling Ball himself said, a little goes a long way, in regards to the Bongo's EQ. Don't be afraid to experiment with it on your own, see what each knob does. Its a much more flexible and responsive EQ than your average preamp EQ.

How have I never heard the term Bongoloid? It's so perfect....

Well after waiting a painful 8 months my Bongo 5HH in Stealth Black arrived today. And what a beautiful sounding instrument it is.
I have not yet checked what tonal possibilities it will give me as I basically just plugged it in with everything set flat and even at flat settings it sounds "BRILLIANT".
I am still waiting for a white pickguard to come through the post which my dealer threw in free of charge and my free gift from Musicman which I think is one of their toolkits.

I am currently in Bongo Heaven!

I love mine, both of 'em. I have a 5 HSp and a fretless 6 HS. Have been thinking I need a 5 HH to round out the collection...

Some of the early colour schemes are amongst the best (IMHO)........... but tonally?

Nice all in black!! I've never owned a Bongo or ever even tried one out but I've heard great things about them!! Congrats enjoey!! after seeing this one it mite be on my bucket list in the near future !! Here's my opinion on a white pick guard, I think it would stick out way to much ! looks killer just like it is! Black/Black pick guard..

Sorry! I'm not being a hater. Just something about the look of that just doesn't tickle me in any sort of good ways!

Heard Colin Edwin with Porcupine Tree on the DVD "Arriving Somewhere", and he had a massive tone on that!

Hope you enjoy that. Maybe the white pick guard might change my mind a little on the look thing...

I love my Bongo. Tried many other basses and I keep coming back to the Bongo. The only thing I gas for is a fretless Bongo.

I took the pickguard off and love the look!

Great bass, probably the best Stingray ever made..

I have the exact same bass except for, I have the single H.

Lightweight, great sound, fantastic play-ability.

I swapped the stealth pick-guard with a plain white one - very distinctive look - James Bond like.

Fact is, I've always thought the Bongo and Big Al were just flat out cool looking. Never been able to play one, but that black/black looks awesome to me.
