Musicman Bongo finally arrived today!

Very nice! The only thing that has kept me from getting a bongo is a) the foolish hope that the various alerts I have set up will one day drop the perfect Big Al in my lap and b) a vague memory from 12+ years ago of spending ten minutes in a GC bass room never quite able to find a comfortable way to hold one.

I don't put too much stock in that memory, though.I was an idiot.

Well after waiting a painful 8 months my Bongo 5HH in Stealth Black arrived today. And what a beautiful sounding instrument it is.
I have not yet checked what tonal possibilities it will give me as I basically just plugged it in with everything set flat and even at flat settings it sounds "BRILLIANT".
I am still waiting for a white pickguard to come through the post which my dealer threw in free of charge and my free gift from Musicman which I think is one of their toolkits.

I am currently in Bongo Heaven!

Congrats! I love my two Bongos, they're definitely my most played basses. To me they just feel great, sound great, and look cool.

Congratulations! I've had my Bongo for 3 years now and it is by far the best bass I've ever owned. If anyone is interested there's a super nice purple one in Bridgeton, MO with a roasted maple neck.

For Bongo 5HH users........Do you find that you no longer need to use a compressor with your Bongo?
I have had a play around with mine and done a bit of recording at home and found volume across the strings to be very even,and the Bass itself sounds better overall without my compressor. I know that I defo need it for my P+J Basses and my Stingray too, but the Bongo just sounds a lot better without the need of a compressor.
