Nope, not discontinued. They did down the number of available colors, though.

I think there is something wrong with me too. I just pick up a bass and start playing. In my old age I can't remember all the things I'm supposed to worry about.![]()
I LOOOOVE Stingrays too, but I don't like necks I can't take off. I've had to shim almost every bolt on I've had to get the ludicrously low action I like. It's not an option on a neck through. I also like the ability to replace the neck if anything ever goes wrong with it.hmmm.. ok.. so is this a problem just with the 5 Strings? cos the 4 bangers seem pretty wide to me.
sorry for the highjack..
on topic, I LOOOOOVE Stingrays, but I havent been enticed by the neck thru idea because i think it would tonally alter the bass in a way I wouldnt like.. what say ye?
Damn, now I won't be able to sleep either! What about the Neck Pocket? Keeps me up at night. Its gotta be tight, right?

Wow. Neat!
I still can believe they would retool enough to try this before trying 19mm spacing though. I bet there weren't a ton of bassists sitting at home saying "I would love to try a MM but DANG they don't make a neck though."
I KNOW there are lots of bassists who would love to play a MM but can't because of string spacing. Same with G&L while we're at it.
These new basses are sexy and all but I don't think they will increase their market share with this move.
Didn't they use 18mm spacing, which is pretty standard from Fender to G&L...Wow. Neat!

Yea...it took me under 15 seconds to google it and find an answer. Do some research next time.
Ernie Ball Announces Music Man Neck Through Basses
Fender 5 strings are 18mm, Music Man 5ers are 17.5mm, and G&L does 17. So no.Didn't they use 18mm spacing, which is pretty standard from Fender to G&L...
Hmm...I guess spacing doesn't make a big difference to me.Fender 5 strings are 18mm, Music Man 5ers are 17.5mm, and G&L does 17. So no.![]()
Yeah, nothing bugs me more than seeing a heel on a bass that doesn't need one. (Spector Euro)I don't know how much difference NT is going to make, but it's nice to see that they spent some time on the neck-to-body joint and eliminated the neck heel.
I don't remember any thread on TB about people wanting a neck thru MM. Wider string spacing on the SR5, well.......Wow. Neat!

Are discounting the classic sabre or just those colors
Since I posted that I think only the colors will be discontinued because it doesn't say entire line like the reflex or big alI would guess that the Classic Sabre will be removed, it has a product number. I am actually shocked at how much they are removing from that list, including the Big Al. I always wanted to try one of those bad boys...
