Here's my new one. Trans White/Flamed Maple

*EDIT* 5-26-15

The White/Maple is gone in place of a white/all rosewood necked one. Though interestingly enough, the color is more vintage blonde than white compared to the one above.

OK. I'll start with my first Sabre, the one I bought to congratulate myself on deciding to play bass again after a 15 year hiatus...

Played HARD, and battle scarred! Oh, and I paid way too much... But who cares, it's a frickin' PreEB Sabre!

I could do with replacing the mute assembly and the knobs... One day. What I REALLY need to do is replace the pickup covers. They are both showing some cracks from age and the spring loaded pickups aren't helping any. I'd like to get some creme coloured ones. They don't come in creme, so I'm thinking I'll have some 3D printed.

When I went to GC this was by far the most impressive bass there. Would like to actually play one for a bit.

Very nice. One of these days I hope to have a bass that has actually seen a lot of years. I can never hang on to a bass for more than a year or two....actually hell, this year I can't go more than a few months

yup. it's a sabre with a graphite neck and a different name.

No, the pickguard is not original. It came to me with a mirrored pickguard. I hate mirrored pickguards. So I ordered that one from pickguardheaven.com

I also bought a 1979 Sabre new in 1979. Chocolate brown, maple fingerboard. I think the official color name was Walnut. Kept it for 20 years, pretty much as my main bass. Sold it in '99 and regretted it several years later. Went out looking for one a couple years ago. Found the '80 and then a few weeks later the '79 popped up. Scooped 'me both up.

Mine was walnut w/ maple board too!! This thread made me google for images for one. I sold it in 1985 to buy a Ken Smith BT Custom....which I still have.

I don't need a number, but I have a 2013 Sabre Classic. It's currently unplayable due to putting DR Black Beauties on it...apparently the Classic requires a string ground to not be a hummy mess, and the BBs are non-conductive. I just bought Roto 55s to try out on it. Haven't gotten around to installing them yet.
