Mutron Octave Divider... :( RIP

Ok,

so...
hmm...

i'm playing my octave-div and suddenly, i press the 'bass only switch'. shazam, it turns off. nothing. at this point i almost started to cry.

i open it up find the bass only switch was working as a terminal block instead of a switch. so i replace it with a fancy 9pole.

so now it turns on and the greenringer circuit is working better than ever, but not the octave... it just doesnt exist.

there is no way i could replace this with something else, so i've taken a week off work to try to fix it, hopefully i'll suceed, but im nervous.

i found the schematic online but it has absolutley no info *numbers, names, resistor resistance, nothing!!!*

Anyone have a really real schematic?

Maybe you can write to Malekko. Josh said that they are going to clone Octave Divider long ago, so I guess he has the schematic.

You should contact Richard over at Lingenberg Sound. He can work wonders on Mutron stuff.

In this case he would need an OC-2, a green ringer clone, and an LS-2 to blend them together to get the same effect. Honestly this three pedal approach would probably be cheaper and take up less space then the octave divider and essentially sound the same.

Unfortunately the OP is in Australia, and on the lsound website it says 'Service available only within the USA'. Still worth a try though...

I think freestompboxes or diystompboxes has a pcb layout and parts list to build your own. I got them from one of those places.

If you're getting straight signal and green ringer then most likely the problem is somewhere on the logic board (the piggybacked one). Your best bet is to whip up an audio probe if you don't have one and see where you're losing signal. I bought one with the same problem you have and it turned out to just be a bad opamp.
