MXR m80 with chorus

hi, i am new to this forum, since there was some tread about the m80, i use it to record my bass, i am wondering if i use it as DI, i have to use chorus before it, but it will affect the sound if i use the distorsion of the m80. what will you guys do if use the m80 for di recording and wants other effects?

It's not a problem to put other effects before the M80. As the M80 is a DI it has to be last in the chain, if you're using it as a DI, so there's no problem. The only other pedal I use apart from the M80 is a DOD bass chorus and all works well.

I sometimes even have them both on at once but that's usually live when I'm using the chorus and want to lick in some distortion but can't hit both pedals at the same time.

When I'm just playing by myself and using the m80's distortion and preamp I usually run it first for some reason.... Not always, but it's something I've been testing. But as it was said before, if your are using it as a DI then it needs to come last. If are using a XLR to record then you'll need to run the chorus first. Just play around with it a bit and see what happens.
