i've had this pedal for a long time. i'm looking into getting a new fuzz or distortion, but i'm still liking the features of mxr bfd.

I had one a while back. Before I really knew what I was doing with dirt. I liked it. But I had trouble in the mix with it. Like I said though, I didn't know what I was doing when I had mine. I don't know why, GAS most likely, but I'd like to try it again. It sounds like a cool industrial fuzz. The way I'd like to use it anyway. I've heard good things. I say go for it OP!!

Interesting that this pops up now... I have an open fuzz spot on my board and have been wondering what to fill it with. Maybe this... does anyone have any more info on what the circuit is based on?

i here it's tone bender, but some have said it's muff based.

It's definitely not muff based.
Mxr said it was based on a different vintage pedal. To me perhaps tone bender?
