MXR - making a pushbutton into a footswitch?

Got one of my favorite older pedals again recently as a gift - the MXR Slash Octave Fuzz. If you don't know about it, it does an octave down, and has a footswitchable ringer-style fuzzy upper octave. It's a bit like an Octron 2 in that way (one of my other favorites), BUT, you can selectively send the Down octave through a fuzz as well, which is a nice alternate tone. That is done through a little pushbutton, though, not a footswitch.

So I'm curious if it'd be possible to convert that little button to a footswitch - Either in the existing housing (same size as the M80 preamp pedal), or if needed mayyybe in a new one? Whaddya think, experts?

It would really depend on their being room in the housing for the switch and how the push button is attached to the PCB. Its likely possible but how difficult it is to do is "it depends"

Yes it CAN be done. Knowing how difficult it is would require opening it up to see how stuff is laid out.

Hmmmm. I am not suuuuper confident in digging inside to find out because I assume it's a couple small boards stacked, but I'll try to find out one way or another!
