As some of you know, I've been talking about doing this for a couple of months. Well, after three weeks of sporadic work, poor math, and frenetic Home Depot visits, here she is...I don't think I could possibly be happier.
Here's the final result. 2x15 cabinet and matching 5 space shallow rack case. Built using the Electro-Voice TL-606 plans, but extrapolated and bastardized to be a 2x15 box. Passinwind, et. al. suggested that if one were to use this box design with the Kappalite 3015, that the port should be enlarged to 3"...which I did.
It's a single input, 4 ohm cabinet, rated at 900 watts (1800w peak...or something).
I'm driving it with the Carvin B1500 (1,250 watts at 4 ohms), with a DBX 163x and BBE 262 in the effects loop.
Here's a closeup shot of 1/2 of the cabinet. I like the port covers because it gave me a place to put the logo on the front, but I'll have to try the cabinet with and without them to know which sound I like.

Most of the pictures have descriptive titles, and some actually have further description of the steps.
I've yet to give it a full gig-volume test drive, as I'm babying the drivers for a little bit. But, I did thump away a bit yesterday. Oooh...that's nice.
In the interest of full-disclosure: I've never built a speaker cabinet before. I have no jigs, I cut the panels with a circular saw, had to borrow a router and remember from 9th grade how to use it, no real woodworking skills to speak of, and no step-by-step directions on how to build this. The TL-606 plans are nothing more than a picture and a cut list.
A nitpicker will find small gaps, some over-sanding, and probably some errors that someone with at least an iota of experience wouldn't have made. But, I like the exposed screw heads and obvious hand-sanded edges. This cabinet is more "ME" than any store-bought one I've ever owned.
Lastly, it's not a lightweight rig, and was never meant to be. Even though they're Neodymium drivers, I used 18mm ply, lots of fir bracing that wasn't drilled out, and heavy hardware. I glued and screwed each piece and left the screws in. The speaker cabinet weighs 95 lbs and the loaded rack case is 60 lbs. Cool.
Love it love it love it. Now I just need to gig it.

I don't know why I picked it...it was in a blue bottle. Blue is the best color for glue bottles.
