My '78 Jazz - Strip Tease

I still have the factory control plate and bridge if I want to taker her back there. Right now there is a BadAss II and a Audere pre-amp (control plate) on her. Good mix of modern and vintage technology. Oh, forgot to add that she has Jason Lollar custom pickups (wound to vintage spec) with pole height matched to the radius of the fret board. Very even sounding bass.

Man, I just recorded last week at XM Radio studios, but didn't have this with me. Had the F bass (which never fails on recordings). I'll have to use this next time I record.

Up close the paint job is "OK" (not quite great). I was not pissed as my buddy did it for dirt cheap and this is a player, not a museum piece that hangs on a wall. It will be played tonight at rehearsal and gigged this weekend (and every weekend this month).

Great! That's what they're for! And nobody but you is ever likely to be close enough to comment. It looks fine! LPB/Maple/bwb pickguard is what I'd like - I saw this combo, on a Precision, on an old Fender colour chart...instant GAS...

I believe it was a 3 piece as I recall, but the grains on each piece of ash did not match well with each other and was such labeled as a "B" body at the factory (stamped "B" in the neck pocket) which means it got painted instead of natural or burst.

That makes sense.

Peavey took a different tack with my natural T-40 which is 4 pieces! The grain is similar to left wing of your Jazz. With the smaller bridge and pickguard on the Jazz, the mismatched grain would have stuck out more.

Nice man. I've always preferred Blue Ice to the Lake Placid, but it looks awesome with that neck and pickguard. Can't wait to see some better pics!

Set her up better and realigned the neck. Plays and sounds great. Pics with the case I bought for her (true 70's Jazz HSC in great condition).
