My '78 Jazz - Strip Tease

So I bought a '78 Jazz here on TB. I got her with this nasty red-cinnamon finish (which I HATE). So I decided to do something about it ;) !

After stripping off several coats of poly, 4 coats of the red, 2 or 3 coats of green, 2 coats of BRUSHED ON black :scowl: and she's finally near down to wood. Still have some sanding to do to get the rest off, but it's getting close to being ready to be prepped for primer and then paint.

I'm going to have her shot in Lake Placid Blue. :D

I'll post pics later of her dressed in her new Lake Placid Blue Outfit! ;)

I thought this was unusual as well until I saw pics of other Jazz basses from that era that also had the same oval pickup route.

I believe my 78 does as well. I remember something funky like that when I took the pickguard off.

Found this picture through ebay (Link Removed) of an all original 78 jazz. Good luck with the refin, LPB is one of my favorite colors.
