I would love it even more if your drummer wasn't hitting every single accent exactly the same. Sometimes the best notes are the ones not played. ;) Especially on that snare. Oh, and I really don't like the way the drums sound either... way too canned. Doesn't really mesh well with the rest of the music.

If you know what I mean? Hopefully that makes sense.

Great stuff though. Would love to hear a finished version.l

Yeah, I think you understood what i meant by "sort of mixed".

Ever since I started playing with her (five years ago) I've always gravitated towards chick singers.

We're in the studio right now. Literally, I have my laptop on my music stand and we're setting everything up! so stoked! finally doing a real album!

Liberation is one of my fav's too, probably bc it's so bass heavy :)

I dig it; but I too confess a preference for female fronted bands, ( doesnt hurt when they are attractive as well. :D) and echo Kipaste's opinions. I think TripHop/Post-TripHop sensibilities would improve greatly on the sonic canvas you guys are painting. As is, it's really good, but plays a lil safe if you know what I mean.

Watched the vids. sound wasn't that good, but thats not any fault of yours. To improve, for your live shows, I would suggest different lighting if at all possible. Atmosphere and ambiance play a big role in that type of music. Purples, Blues, Greens, Reds, and generally darker shades would fit better IMO.. stay away from bright white and yellows unless used as flashes.

sounds great! I like this kind of music, I see you're in Virginia, my band is actually located in Northern Virginia (Centreville). What studio are you in? We're gonna be in Burke to record our first full length album. Know anything about that studio? I haven't been to it nor do I know the name..haha

Nah, I haven't heard of them.
Any studio stuff we've done in Virginia has been done at Earthsound (mae's studio, for the most part) and we've used Star Trek for drums a few time (budget allowing).

But now we're at a place called Smoakstack the best and biggest vibe ever!

The video I just posted does no justice!

Looks like you might be going into my (very exclusive) list of Alt rock bands I like. Quite beautiful. There's something personal about this stuff: makes me feel connected. Come to India, if possible!

Very sweet bass tone, indeed. Love the atmospherics. Is the ambience a consequence of the dedicated keyboardist you have? Are you a major compositional force in the band (always makes me like a band instantly if the bassist plays an active role in the composition :D) ?

composing/arranging yes, song writing no. Does that make sense?
Since I have a music theory background and a six string bass, I gravitate towards the chord progressions and voicing of chords.
The ambience is a combination of the keys and the guitar.

We may actual come to India.
The siblings in the band have friends there, and one of the members has been there before too.

My wife and I plan on living in Thailand sometime in the future too; that's not to far.
