My Bass Is Stuck In Customs

That seem punishing...cant the shop do something about that if there was some storage fee?

I called UPS to find out what the fees were for, about $50 were a broker fee and the rest was taxes.

As a welcoming gift I just had to pay $366.38 in customs and brokerage fees for the honor to get my bass delivered. Yay government.

I’m also dealing with the exact same situation as OP, just ordered a Mullarkey from Bass gallery, and it’s stuck in Customs and the owner of Bass gallery is less than helpful, will never buy from them again. If you are in the US you may want to consider being very hesitant to do business with these guys

I bought from them and didn't have a problem, but my bass only spent a couple days in Customs, but from my understanding once the bass leaves the BASS GALLERY, there is nothing at all they can do to help with U.S. Customs. Hopefully they labeled it correctly.

I've imported from all over and what the Customs do is nothing to do with the seller, unless they've stuffed up which is unlikely if they ship internationally as a business.

Therefore, blame Customs because they are holding it up.

Bummer — I just returned from London and visited TBG. Very cool store and nice people. I played a bass there I really like but, after hearing all of this stuff I’m hesitant to buy it and have it shipped to US. I really regret not purchasing the bass when I was there there and just fly home with it.
