My big rig blown away by lil combo?!

Having a Crest Vs900 and 1100, I know that the inputs on those amps are rated for +4db input. I just called Tech 21 and asked about the output of the RBI. The tech I spoke with said that the 1/4" output is rated -10db, intended to run into an amp head, etc. The XLR output has a switch to change it from mic level (he did not specify to db level for that setting) or line level, nominally at 0db. He claimed that the line level could be boosted up to +4db by cranking everything.

Well Id have to wait for someone with some more technical know how on this stuff for it to make any sense to me. Right now Im running the regular output from the sansamp into the crest. Im not sure if running from the xlr and adjusting it would make any difference? Im practicing thursday night so Ill take the time to mess around with the amp.

Finally had practice last night and had some time to fiddle around with amp. Like I said before its my first rack setup and Ive only been able to use it a few times so far. I finally discovered using the active button on the RBI, I didnt use it before because I play a passive bass. I was wondering why the level knob wasnt doing anything, but then I turn on the active button and wow... I was able to turn down the power amp to 1/4 power (around 300 watts) and made the adjustments on the pre and it was quite a bit louder than how I was using it before. Adjusting the mids,bass, and drive made very noticable changes in volume too. The volume was loud enough without my cab farting out so Im happy. Still need to get the one driver reconed and my ancient cab recovered...

Oh and guitarist combo is a Marshall AVT20, at first I made fun of his dinky amp but that thing can rip
