Double Bass My bridge randomly flew off my bass.

I attended an outdoor concert yesterday where the bassist had a sudden bridge ejection on the last chord of song just previous to the last one of the set. Luckily, there was an electric upright already on stage to get through the last song after the sad looking Kay was taken off of the stage. This bassist travels around the country in a bus, so it's likely that the bridge was knocked into an unstable position during the previous day's ride. It's probably a good lesson to check the bridge position if the bass has to ride in a vehicle full of other stuff that may bang against it during transport.
