my cab idea

here's my take on the sound: Exceptional low end, mids are scooped sounding, highs are as loud as you want or as quiet as you want depending on where you have the tweeter attenuated. Personally the mids are too scooped for my taste and the tweeter sounds a bit detachted from the woofer, but from what I understand, the new crossover smooths this out quite a bit. I have not played the 2X12 Cab or carried it for that matter, but I can guarantee you that two SB112's will fit in your Beetle. I used to drive a Beetle and my two 1X15 Cab's fit just fine, and they were bigger than the SB112. If you are interested in cool little setup, shoot me an email.

As far as the "scooped sound" is concerned, you may want to try playing just a 1x12 in a band with that tone. You may be able to pull off that tone with a lot more speaker area, but with only a 1x12, you might have a hard time. I'd recommend getting a fairly neutral sounding cabinet and experiment. I have an older Avatar 2x10, and it does fine. You don't want a cab (for a first cab, anyway) that is going to lock you into one tone. Hope this helps.
