My computer speakers sound much better than my crate practice amp! :P

I have this 15W crate bt15 practice amp that sounds like crap, It completely lacks the low end.
I always thought it sounded thin because of only having an 8" driver.

Today I tried using my bass with my computer speakers (these), and was completely amazed!
This thing has 30W but only a 5" sub speaker and it sounds awesome!!! (I used a DI only)

How can this be? :P

I thought all 8" bass amps sounded like this crate unit, but I guess not, I must have what it is the worst bass amp in existence :hmm:

The b15 is not a bass amp, it's a naggy little plastic thing.

I use some good headphones when i practice at home. Brings the clarity I need to scrutinize my playing, and the volume i want to immerse myself in the music.

(use Reaper and a computer interface if you really want options, as I do. It'll cost you about $ 100 or more, depending on the quality of the interface)

I have a good amp that i use for rehearsels and gigs, that didn't work for me when i practiced alone. Everyone, including the neighbours wins :)
