My fatty Fender Bassman 135 samples!

I spent quite a while going through this forum looking for people who had experience with 135s, but couldn't find any clips. So at last night's show, I ran my P-bass through a modded Fender Bassman 135 head paired with an old TE 210 cab, stuck a Sennheiser MD421 in front of it and got the following fatty results for you TBers.

Fingerstyle. I didn't realise my Zvex Box of Rock was on during this part; it sounded like a nice tube drive to me. Amazing little box.

Clean, with a pick. You can hear it snarl when I dig deeper.

Clean, fingerstyle. Also where it gets sloppy; this was the 2nd-last song of a two-hour set.

Thoughts?

Forgot to mention- there was a Demeter Compulator and Aggie DB924 between the bass and amp as well.

Thanks! My engineer has this mad plan for the next time I go into the studio: one cone with the 421 into a UA LA-610, another with a D112 into a Vintech X73i. If you ever get to try that out before I do, please post clips....

I love my Bassman 135 and have done for over 10 years now.
what a great amp it is. Crank it up for max phatness and clarity and it won't distort - lovely.
if you want more grunt and some distortion you can jump the two channels with a patch lead or I run a Catalinbread SFT thru it for a more Ampeg tone and punch.
does anyone need any other amp? really!

Yeah, I tried jumping the two channels but settled on (ironically) the "Normal" channel. Still - would love to actually own one of these if they weren't so heavy!
