Double Bass My Favorite Strings

No this is not in the wrong forum. It's a group project -- because I'm too lazy to finish it and because I don't know anything about DB strings.

I figure those who really know the terrain ought to be able to tack on a bunch more verses. So write your own verse and add it to the end.

Anyway, here is my start on "My Favorite Strings" to be sung to the tune, of course, to "My Favorite Things" from R & H "Sound of Music":

My Favorite Strings

Velvets for jazzers and Flexos for classics
Spiros project well and guts are elastic
Thomastik Mittels will make your bass sing
These are a few of my favorite strings.

When the GAS bites or my sound stinks, intonation's bad.
I simply remember my favorite strings and look in the for-sale ads

Geeze, I missed this the first time around. Nice work. I would think that with a nod to Sound of Music, this song needs to resolve in favor of Austrian string makers.

As for corrupted XMas Music, I've been singing to my 4 month old and because I don't always know the right lyrics and because I'm a bit of a wiseass, this is what he's bound to grow up thinking is the bridge to "Winter Wonderland":



In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he is Clifford Brown,
He'll say "bring your axe and you can blow man,
You should sit in when you come through town."

Later on we'll conspire,
As we sit in the diner...


And so on. I know, he'll grow up thinking I'm a dork and he'll have a point.
