My Fender Parts Build

This is my custom “parts bass” i built myself using a classic vibe neck with pearl inlays and binding, Fender Player Plus alder body, a white pearl pickguard from a USA bass that I had, dropping in some tom Brantley rewinds in it for some
More oomph!

I’m a sucker for inlays and binding and I’m disappointed/sad fender doesn’t make maple/white bound and blocked necks anymore(aside from the USA geddy lee model but that neck was chunkier closer to the heel than I liked), and finding them used they’re very expensive

I am a very big geddy fan myself!

I could have used an all parts neck or Warmoth neck but those also get pricey plus I’d have to pay a luthier to do all of the drilling/fitting/setting up

I’ve been playing this through a few different Sansamp pedals and it kicks booty!

It plays well, the action is low and I’m really enjoying the sustain(the neck is a super tight and solid fit to the body and pocket)

I may end up adding a high mass bridge down the line, but as-is I can’t complain! It’s kind of one of those “if it’s not broken, and it works , don’t fix it” scenarios

I’ve removed the symbol since it kind of clashed, looks good now though 😁

Yeah, I think it looks much better without the little symbol on the PG too. Nothing wrong with that, but I felt the PG was more of a focal point than the bass itself. A good looking bass with it, but a great looking bass without..
Yeah it’s such a looker in person, I really can’t capture the beauty in pictures, maybe I just need much better lighting, but still!

Did you consider an aged/vintage-y pearl guard to match up with the blocks and binding?
The white pearl that I have now, matches more imo than an aged pearl, I guess the inlays look more white pearl in person compared to an aged pearl
Could just be my eyes, but I guess it looks a little different in pictures compared to in person, maybe an aged pearl would look better, just purchased one, will report back with photos once it arrives and I fit it
