My first band!!!!

Hello all,
I'm still consider myself a bass nube. Ive been playing my bass a little while now, I practice at least 3 hours a day, and play with my cusin (who is a drummer). I feel I'm getting the hang of this, and I just landed my first gig in a band. I'm good friends with the frontman, and he feels I'm ready and is happy I'm new to this aspect of playing (and I'm not jaded with an ego). So as fellow bassists with more exp than me (and I always try to learn from those who know more than me) what is ur best advice for one in my current situation.

My equipment:
Ibanez sr300dx
Ibanez sra500
Dean bass (that has been defreted)
Ampeg svt350h head
Ampeg 4x10 cab
Ampeg 1x15 cab
And a handful of distortion petals

What do you think??:bassist:

Get comfortable playing and always try to look over the shoulders of those with more experience. Ask them questions. LEARN AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ABOUT RUNNING A PA SYSTEM. You will find those skills indispensable at times, especially when you find out the sound guy is out on the bar patio passed out (I've seen it happen several times...different sound guys, too.). Learn at every opportunity (read practices, rehearsals, and gigs.) and have fun!

Your words have defanently helped. I'm sooooo excited, the dumber has a cabin in the mountains that he built a sweet practice studio in, so we'll have a chill spot to practice in. I think this will be a very positive expierance in my life. Thank for the advice and I welcom more if anyone wants to chime in. :D

Well thanks for all the encouraging words guys. I'm so excited about the while thing. After a couple of practices (so I have a chance to settle in) I'll have some details on how it's going and some of my thoughts. Thanks for listening and the advice.
