I have come to the end of the build and everything has come out quite well, and to my liking. I have finished the final assembly and and made all adjustments. After testing and playing for a few hours i noticed that the 2nd pickup and the volume/tone pots were also inactive. I figure that I have made a mistake in the wiring. This is my first build and I am not familiar with the wiring of a guitar either. so I am going to post the wiring diagram that I used and if anyone with knowledge of wiring has any input or suggestions on what I can do to fix this problem I would be grateful. I have come this far in the build and do not want to have to bring it to someone to fix a few wires that are in the wrong places. Here are some finished pics and the diagram. Thanks for all the help along the way.
thanks man. i am actually going to try to get more in to the building process. a friend of mine that is in a fairly successful local band is looking for me to build him a guitar and i have a few others interested in a custom, all friends so i will probably charge for parts and thats it. it will be a good way for me to get a couple of builds under my belt with out breaking the bank.
seesilva: You might want to keep that part about free builds quiet, or your lesser friends will be pissed off when you want to charge them after giving someone else one for free.
That's a gorgeous looking Bass, seesilva! Once you've sorted out your wiring, would it be possible to hear a demo of this beast? I'm really interested in what it'll sound like with those pickup positions
word Arx. yea about the audio demo, I have gotten the wiring issue worked out and it sounds pretty killer. I have played a couple of sessions with it already and i am very pleased with the results, however i am a computer moron and had a time just figuring out how to post pics. so maybe in the future i will but for now i am afraid yall are just going to have to droll over the pics.
