At first it was costing me $7-$8 per pickup to make...
Yeah manet wire, I ordered a 9lb roll of 43 gauge spn. Using my guess-ta-mating skills and how many pickups I got from a 2 lb roll is how I determed that number.![]()
50 cents for enough wire to wind a pickup with!?![]()
Alrighty then. I have actually never sat down and added everything up because I buy bunches of parts as I need them. I'm probably over estimating then.
But good luck with the pickups!![]()
, but after showing her what I ordered and how many orders I was getting she chilled. Hi John - just letting you know I received my pickup today (EMG 40 series size) - looks really good!
I won't have a chance to install it until late next week, as the bass it is intended for won't arrive until then.
FYI - the pickup will be placed in the "Stingray" sweet spot, and I'll be running it straight to the jack - have an outboard 3 band Aguilar preamp to use with the bass, so I'll be able to test it passive and active with a pre.....5 string BTW
Thanks again!
J
So for now on all side-by-side humbuckers will have it.
