So, here is the set up:
A lady I work with has a house built for entertaining. It is what she loves to do. It has a 1700 sq ft screened-in porch.
A guy I work with has had a band for a long time, but just added one of our coworkers as their new lead singer.
These two got together and are throwing a series of parties to get the new band some rehearsal and stage time. Plus they are trying to make demo videos. Full stage set-up with lights and everything.
The rest of us at work have been walking around asking, "Can you play this? How about that?" The end result was we had two guitars, bass (me), keys, harmonica and drums show up ready to play before the real band. So, this was a very friendly atmosphere.
With no rehearsals, we hit the stage and played for about an hour. Gotta say... IT WAS FUN!!!!!! We are already planning out a set for the next party. We planned some songs, threw together some on stage and did some blues improv while they worked out sound issues.
I know everyone here says you should find people to play with ASAP, but it is kind of scary to get started. Now, I just want to keep playing.
