Double Bass My first upright (info needed!)

Hey, Thanks for all the replies guys!

So, what if I don't have a reputable luthier in my area? Can I tackle the project on my own? I live in the Hampton roads area of Virginia, and the closest reputable luthier I can find is 2.5 hours away from where I live, which is going to be a tough place to get (considering I don't own a car big enough to transport it).

If anyone knows of a reputable luthier in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, please tell!

You can fit an upright into pretty much anything. If you don't know what you're doing, it's real easy to **** up a bridge. I'm more willing to pay somebody to do it right the first time than to pay for my learning curve with new bridge blanks. I'm having a hard time Googling Hampton Roads, where are you in relation to Richmond?

Oh, Norfolk, just saw. There's a couple of folks listed in Richmond, a bunch in Maryland....

Yeah, Richmond is the place that's 2.5 hours away x]. I haven't tried sticking it in my car yet, I guess I can give it a try.
