My hideous new pickguard!

I bought a half-sheet of this cellulose abalone 4-ply material from a supplier in China and I made a new 'guard for my SR5 with it this morning. The stuff is a little difficult to work (low melting point, so it gets gummy) but the results are pretty fantastic!

Acetate or Nitrate? Wouldn't the Nitrate off gas and possibly damage the pickup and electronics?

It doesn't smell like nitrate, and it has the properties of a cheap acetate... low melting point, yet brittle in cold temps (I chipped a corner when taping it to the template)

Badass........Some may not like it, but it's an original add-on. Myself, I dig it, nice work.

Thank you!

Individually, the p-guard pattern and the color of the bass wouldn't be my cup of tea. But together they they pop!

Job well done...

Thanks! The black one was boring... lifeless

OMG that is disgusting! I love it!!

My wife said it looks like psychedelic vomit :D

I like it - it's really unique.

Thank you!

I think it looks good! Nice job!

Thanks!

That is hideous in the absolutely best way...I dig it! Best part is there's probably not another one out there like it.

Dargie Delight (one of eleven in this configuration) + really-hard-to-find pickguard material =

Yep... you're probably right! :hyper:

I absolutely LOVE it!
Well done sir!

Thank you! :bassist:
