my new custom :) (very first custom and Filipino made)

my 5 string custom. done by elegee guitars. the luthier is Jon dela Cruz. proudly locally made.

the specs are:
2 pc swamp ash single cut body. based on benavente's SCB design (with my own and jon's little adjustments)
maple neck - one piece. quartersawn
light bird's eye maple board
(neck and board are based on the MTD 535 design with my own and Jon's adjustments)
21 jumbo frets with 0 fret
kamagong (it's a relative of ebony) top with matching headstock
the knobs, pick up covers and the nut are also kamagong

black hipshot hardware - A style bridge and ultra light tuners
electronics are Jon's own design but the knob config are mine.
pick ups: 2 dual coils with wood covers
electronics: knobs - voume, volume, tone, stacked bass/treble, stacked dual mids and an active passive swtich. preamp - 9 volt

edit: sorry. i meant the neck is quartersawn. it was flatsawn at first. changed it now.

well the bass is pretty big. the neck is based on the MTD 535 and MTD kingston. something in between, in a way. 19mm spacing and 1.9" at the nut.

and she's small too. she's only 5'4. the only bass i have that she can use properly is my Eb-3 copy and the hamer cruise. hehe

I'm always amazed at how luthiers can still find new and interesting headstock designs too! I like it.

well that's just my girlfriend testing out MY bass. hehe. i'm not that big either, 5'11" but it fits me perfectly since i was there every step of teh way when the bass was being built and the contours on the back and everything were shaped to fit me perfectly.

great bass man. It's different looking than a lot of standard single cut customs, but not way over the top or anything, but original looking, which is key with a custom. i like it a lot.
