what does that huge mother board do? the controls layout doesn't look that unusual.

Two GB Custom pickups; Pan (pickup mix); Master Volume; Bass, Middle & Treble tone filters; Pickup switching (coil selection configuration) system. - All laid out in an easy to use pattern.
The 3 tone controls normally have about 42db (equivalent to +-21dbcut and boost - this is a relative system) range - or greater - this is already a lot but due to our special pickups may sound like more in some regions. You can boost/cut only so much, so if your pickups don't have it or mask it in the first place you are already down a bit, we have it and boost it and you get lots of it. The output is high, but comparable with most active bass outputs and works brilliantly with all good amplifiers. The pan and tone have a soft feelable indent which gives the nominal centre of the control. This is equal pickup mix for the pan or a nominal flat tone - halfway through the tone control range.
These enable you to obtain all the traditional sounds that you will have been used to, and a whole range of sounds that you will not have experienced, giving you the freedom to explore new dimensions in bass playing and self expression. This is without the controls being fiddly to set or reset giving an intuitive feel to operation of the electronic part of playing. We believe certain operations lie off the bass and inside the main amplifier or in external signal processors so a compromise has to be made between control and complexity - we think we have found it.
All GB electronics are made on high quality fibreglass boards using double sided plated through hole (pth) fabrication. This, though more expensive than basic printed circuit boards gives a much stronger, durable and electronically superior performance. Finally varnished and sealed - to keep in all the goodness !

I've never heard of GB, but that sure looks great!
Used to be called Goodfellow, but Bernie Goodfellow lost the rights to his own name, i think !! Then he set up GB basses. He's been building for eons, and every bass is top quality
Yep strap button placed there I guess to get perfect balane with absolutely no neck dive, Ive just ordered a UL310 how do u rate em gonna be using a markbass head?
I prefer my Spitfires to have 8 machineguns 
but that said, you have a really nice bass there, I love the clear control cover, very different.

Ist praccy with the new band next week, she sounds huge and u can dial up every sound in the catalogue, and a slap tone to die for, ordered a new cab epi 310 to cope, cant wait.
I prefer my Spitfires to have 8 machineguns

I've admired GB Basses from a distant (I am across the pond in the US). There was one that really caught my attention and now yours is just as amazing. There are a LOT of basses that don't really impress me, but you got yourself a gem there that i would be proud to own.

Well thanks for all your kind remarks, yep with all that darn American wood in there it should sure sound fine! does that sound what we English think you Americans talk like? Joke aside, ive noticed a few of you over ther have them infact i very nearly bought one off this very site, I realise its nigh impossible to try out custom basses but these GB's are up with the best.
