The pictures really don't do her justice, she is a BEAUTY.

Body shot. You can see the knobs, and the pickups. They are amazing.

Headstock. Nothing special here. I should mention the tuners - the bass was perfectly tuned when it arrived, with the stock strings.

And, for the hell of it, both of my basses.

I think for $249, I couldn't have done better. The sound quality is amazing, the pickups are wonderful for passive. The Jazz does pick up some hum, but it's an easy fix.

The stock strings are also wonderful, but I'm kinda used to my Ernie Ball Super Slinkies that were on my old bass - I'm gonna get another set soon.

The finish is wonderful - no flaws whatsoever. The headstock is lighter colored than the body though, but that adds another "wow" effect.

The J neck is not what I'm used to, so I wish I could get a P neck, but it'll have to do.

She weighs about 11 pounds, I'd say. Her body is also thinner than my Affinity P-Bass'.

TL;DR, wonderful bass. If you're not worried about paying $200 extra for the Fender name, buy this. I'd say it's MIM quality.

EDIT: After re-reading this, I notice I call basses 'she' a lot. I've been lurking too much! XB

Hey man I got that one to. You know what? It looks killer with a pickupcover and a Gotoh 201 bridge
Also a tip, if you want to get a Jazzbass sound, cut some mids from your amp and turn the volume of the j-pup a little bit higher than the volume of the p-pup. works great

Thats an awesome looking P bass, I've seen the finish in person, on the Jazz version, and it looks a million bucks, the Jazz is nice too, but lotsa hum, nothing a shield job wont fix, but then, you guys ain't got that problem with the P pickups! :D

Its a easy job dude, I've often done it with no more than white woodworking glue, aluminium cooking foil, and a brush to spread the glue with.

I be you'll have no trouble.:)

I modded a MIM P-bass and painted it with hammered metal black, which ended up looking pewter (love it).

I was going to go with a black one, but ended up putting a tort pickguard on it.

I recently tried a black metallic p bass special at my local Long and Mcquade. I was really impressed by how well it played, and the setup. It was immediately comfortable, as the action was perfect and there was no buzzy frets. The overall quality and finish was great, other than a loose input jack. The sound was excellent as well, as I like the P/J combo. I've been looking for a backup bass to my Geddy for a while, so I just about bought it on the spot (no money though). Still under serious consideration...

The black one looked pretty nice, although looking at the pictures of the Satin Pewter one I may have to hold out for one of those.
