Now I'm back to chasing the leak. There's no longer a clearly defined flow path for the water. I suppose I'll have to break out the garden hose after all.
I drank the Apple Kool-Aid in a big way a few years ago. My house is nothing but Apple products, haha. Two iPhones, two iPads, three iPods (for my wife's business), a Mac Mini, a Macbook Pro, and an Apple TV. I could certainly set something up outside to record it. The real trick will be lighting. None of those products do well in low-light situations, so I'd have to get creative with lighting it up. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.If you're on iOS, check out Hyperlapse by Instagram...I have that on my iPhone and it's pretty slick. Certainly there's similar apps for other devices. Drawback is limited recording time (45 minutes) but might just be enough time for your purposes.
I'm trying to get a date scheduled with the repair guy. My goal will be to have he and I in the studio while my wife saturates the building with the garden hose. Communications around the holidays have been limited at best. I'm going to stay after him and hopefully get a date on the books. I'm shooting for January 2nd since I'll be home from work.Unfortunately, the warranty repair involved patching based on experience and hope for the best. At this point, I think that you have no choice but to dig deeper and identify the point(s) of infiltration. Maybe it won't be that difficult to pinpoint with the hose.
I had that thought was well, and the singular location even lends a little credence to that notion. It's the only spot in the building where there's a wall penetration (excluding the soffit and ridge vents), and it happens to be the one where there's glass involved. The glass is double-pane, argon-filled, so getting condensation would be surprising. I went out last night and checked for more water infiltration since it was raining hard, and there was definitely more, but not a monumental amount. Additionally, I checked to see if anything was condensing on the inside of the glass. It was not. The building is well ventilated and not heated so the temperature inside and out is largely equalized at this point, so condensation would be surprising.Given the amount of water and the singular location, I don't think that it would be internal condensation.

A well ventilated space that's not heated and has incomplete wall/roof insulation will be a mess for an IR camera. If I were further along in the process I would definitely consider this as a viable detective option.An IR camera used inside the building would help identify areas of cold air infiltration. This could be were a leak is. Not sure if this would require that your building be heated.

Perhaps water is running down an inside channel from the top or where the hinges attach to the threshold.
