My New (to me) Sterling is here

How about this one on the right? I know it's a StingRay5, but you get the idea of the colour scheme. (P.S. borrowed from the official EBMM thread)

That does look nice. Anybody know how much PGs are from EB direct?

I was gonna try no pickguard, but it feels a little weird. The pickguard is thick and everything feels far away/high without the pickguard. What about a clear pickguard (no pg look, but still have the feel and protection of a pg)? Got any pics of a black sterling with a clear guard?

Congrats on the bass; Sterlings are awesome. I, too, like black/blackpearl (also white/white pearl) but I, for one, do not like tort on black. Likewise, I prefer the abalone on a color other than black. Of course, you should do whatever floats yer boat! :)

That's why I'm trying to find pics of black sterlings with rosewood fretboards with different pickguards. Currently working on getting through the 70 pages on the EBMM forum.

Sweet neck.

It is. It's smooth too, not dings or anything. Great figuring. I need to take a picture of it in natural light sometime.
