I just bought a used Peavy Bam 210 Combo amp, when I get home I plug in the power, then plug my Warrick into it, and it does fine at first. About 10 minutes into it, it starts making this awful sizzling and crackle popping noise.
So I try to make a few adjustments on the amp, but no matter what I did, it would make that noise, even if I did not touch any thing on the amp. It would do it even if I moved or when i hit the string. Tapping the amp lightly on the top seemed to make it stop for a second or two.
So I turned the amp off, and it made a huge pop, like 30 seconds or so after i shut the power off.
This is a solid state amp, no tubes, and at this point I am considering driving the 1 and a half hour drive just to shove this 98 lb amp up that guys *#% sideways. That way he thinks twice about selling his problematic crap to unsuspecting people. I tested it when I bought it. Like I said it worked fine when I bought it. I should have tested it for more than 10 minutes!!
