Like, good luck if anything happens to the power supply.
A power supply can fail if onboard or outboard. If outboard it might be easier to replace.

the power supply is a standard laptop power supply - I have an HP laptop supply that works perfectly.I get that part, it's more that it's using a laptop style outboard PSU for it rather than it being onboard like the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 200: Powerstage™ 200 | Seymour Duncan or the Baby Sumo.

All went well, Redstone is inbound!
I'll let you know for sure. I've been digging germanium lately - really love what the Hudson Broadcast does!I'm really interested how you like that one. I had very high expectations - kind of like a Fender tonestack with the mids raised around 6dB, which basically is what I constructed on my main board, using a Noble and a Broughton RFE.
However, I quickly learned that I absolutely hate germanium diodes dirt, so the Redstone was not for me. I returned it on the very next day.
Which Broadcast regular or AP?I'll let you know for sure. I've been digging germanium lately - really love what the Hudson Broadcast does!
I checked and you are correct. So, off to find more transformer saturation pedalsAs I understood it, the Broadcast has an iron transformer and a germanium transistor, but it's actually the transformer that saturates when you drive it (?).
It's the Dual Foot switch.Which Broadcast regular or AP?
I think the Colourbox is transformer saturation as well, and I really do like the dirt, but I prefer the Broughton S1 over the JHS. I think if I didn't have the Hudson I'd probably keep the JHS.As I understood it, the Broadcast has an iron transformer and a germanium transistor, but it's actually the transformer that saturates when you drive it (?).
I keep hearing great things about the Broadcast both versions I'll have to add them to the must try list. It's the Dual Foot switch.
BROADCAST – dual foot switch – HUDSON ELECTRONICS UK
I've bought and sold probably 20-ish dirt/boost pedals as of late and the Hudson and the JPTR Double are two that I'm jiving with the most.

Also, I love your dirt bender thread, it's ... inspired me![]()

How is the FTP faring in your care?
I really, really like it. One thing that I'll mention - I've tried two different Broadcast clones and the real thing - the clones didn't even come close. Both clones were weak and thin compared to the real thing.I keep hearing great things about the Broadcast both versions I'll have to add them to the must try list.
The S1 is very clean for me as well, but I can get great OD if I use a boost in front of it.The thing with the studio one is when I crack the red knob, and I always leave it cranked, I don't get any distortion per se, maybe just a little bit magic fairy dust and the sound? But no distortion, and also, if you do get distortion, it's not from the transformer. The transformer only effects the XLR out, otherwise there's no transformer in the path
