My Status Warmoth build.... Almost done.... tease pics :)

Here's my Warmoth + Status build....w/ EMGs.... making it a WarModulStat....:confused::confused::confused: yea sorry...

anyways it's a Status neck with 21 frets and inlay stickers that I bought off of evilbay to try them on... initially it has no face dots... so I'm still deciding if I will keep them on or off (they are removable :) )

Hipshot ultralites and hipshot fender fit Bridge

Warmoth body is Walnut with Camphor Burl top.

Electronics are EMG SJ + EMG MM35TW with EMG BQC
Volume/Blend/Mid+Mid Sweep/Bass+Treble, Coil Tap switch

Apparently I'm having some wiring issues so If I don't figure it out, I will take it to a tech then it will be complete but cosmetic wise it's done :)

And it makes sound now... lol I wired the battery and ground the other way around LOL
I set it up and played it and.... it's very versatile doing a tone pretty close to J and Musicman and in between.... :) I probably need to play it around a bit more but overall I'm satisfied

Should sound great. I did a similar setup. Status J neck, Warmoth J body with a single P. All great stuff.

Nothing more frustrating than thinking you're done and then you can't hear your bass! Been there.

Thats bass is smokin man......... nice job! like the pup configuration!

How much does a status neck like that cost and where can I order it? ive been on the status site and cant seem to find they're replacement necks.

@Darkstrike Actually I'd prefer it to be a bit close to the bridge but I'm sold on the position after hearing it :)
@Gintaras Looking from a distance, you won't be able to tell if they're stickers. They look like vintage block inlays
@CTbassist Status was about 600 w/ extra fret. It's on their online shop replacement neck section

I have quite a few J/MM basses, all of which have the MM, closer to the bridge than that, and they get too sharp and harsh sounding, unless you have it wired in parallel, IMHO, you're far better off where you have it.:)

I have two(on some of my very fave basses), that are practically sitting under the bridge saddles, it means when they're on, I can't pluck near the bridge, or plant my hand on the bridge and play with a pick.

Ok.... (holding my breath)

Briefly, the body was around $800 and Neck was $600ish and pickups and hardwares was about $400. Making it around $1800 +/- $100.

If I went for show cased bodies at Warmoth, I could probably saved around ~$500 from that for sure but I was really wanting to make one that meets my taste and overall I'm glad I've done the project :)

I think it took me about 4 hours to complete it. I had to make an extra hole and look through my drawers to find the right screws...etc I could've done it in 3 hours or less for sure lol.
But, the wait time for body was about 4.5 weeks from Warmoth and Status neck took about 8 weeks to arrive (from England). I think the Warmoth body came pretty quick but I had to wait extra time for Status neck because I wanted an extra fret and no face dots... Rob had to make one out of scratch but if you just want a standard one (20 frets and white dots), I think it should be around a week assuming Rob has one in Stock :)

My personal vote would be to keep them off, I love the look of the flat black fretboard (hence why I got one myself haha). But no matter which you choose, the bass looks awesome :bassist:
