MY STOLEN STINGRAY

It was such an exceptional bass, active pickups, and oddly guitar-sized fretwire. Not sure if that was common with Stingrays, but that's what this one had. Gave it very much a fretless vibe. The bass was stolen from me in 1989/90 here in Dallas, and it broke my heart. I was just wondering where it wound up. Or if someone will admit they have it, where they got it. Of course I'm sure the statute of limitations is way passed so no worries about legal action. I have no intention of that anyway. Just wondering if it found a good home with a good player.

Dad story. Hope it turns up. I had a really nice watch stolen from me 40 some years ago that had some sentimental value to it. I just hope the sob that stole got awfully tired of having to explain about “Forever Vicky” inscribed on the back.....

I hope it turns up. Maybe somebody registered or logged it somewhere. I doubt the owner will want to admit ownership, but it would be nice to see. Keep a constant eye on eBay - there are apps that do nothing but watch for specific items.

I hate hearing hardship stories like that, I hope you find it, I hope there is karma for the thief that stole it.

Wow, I must be old... Ya never heard of Anvil flight cases. It wasn't a hardshell case. It was a case for actually sending a bass as luggage on an airline. Big, heavy, rugged, and up to the challenge of luggage handlers.

Of course this was over 40 years ago. I think my son still has my Anvil briefcase. Those things were ubiquitous in the '70s and '80s.

I snagged an original Anvil briefcase off some guy in Burbank in 2009 for $15.00 off Craigslist. It was in good shape but showing it wear and love. Still have it
