It's "Retsyn" with a y.
I know this because in the early '90s, my favorite bar-chick pickup strategy was to tell the beach tourist girls that I was a millionaire Retsyn farmer with several large crops in the countrside of Long Island. I even had business cards made up with my pseudonym and pager number. Valentino Retsyn Farms credentials got me almost as much action as making up laminates on lanyards with "MTV Bikini Bash Talent Scout" did.

When I talk to my wife about bass stuff, i can see her eyes glaze over. But you guys get it. She would rather i talk to ya'll about how my head is too clean and needs a touch of transparent OD and an HPF, and blah blah flatwounds whatever. That way, she doesn't have to hear it.

My old boss said to me once that if I wanted to buy a new bass I should just buy it then tell her (wife) why I HAD to buy it - rather than ask her if I can buy a new bass first

My wife has nothing to do with TB, but appreciates it. Prior to about 12 years ago, I talked to her about bass guitars, music, recording, guitars, composing, band management, gig stories, planning for shows, practice, performance, vocal training, pickup colours, guitar design, what to wear to gigs, who makes the best bass for metal, and much, much, much, much more. The only thing we talk about here on TB that she enjoyed, was carrots.

So, yes, she's pretty thankful for this site...
