Mystic bass?

Is anyone familiar with the basses from Mystic Guitars?

Link Removed seems to be the only one listed online.

I'm looking to upgrade from my Squire VM Jazz and stopped at their shop in Red Wing, MN. They had precision and jazz style basses. I looked at their lower end jazz bass and the higher end precision, they didn't have the higher end jazz style in stock but that's what I'd be interested in.

The Precision seemed nice and they say the components are what you'd find in a high end instrument, I don't really know much about those things so I'm not a very good judge. I admit I'm a little concerned about the very reasonable price. My intention is to upgrade to something better that what I already have but the Mystic bass costs about half that of a MIM Fender so I want to make sure it would truly be an upgrade.

That's disappointing. I do want honest, thanks.

What about it makes you say that?

It would be fun to get something unusual but only if it's actually worth getting.

I found the following description of one of their jazz basses on their Facebook page but, again, I don't know enough about the subject to know if I should be impressed.

"New Jazz Bass Guitar Just Completed For Jeff Woldmoe, Red Wing, MN. Warmoth Body & Neck, Entwistle JBXN Pickups, and a Gotoh Bridge. Curt Mangan 45-100 Nickelwound Strings. CTS Controls with an Audience Auricap Tone Cap."

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check them out.

The other one I'm looking at is the Fender Player Jazz. Maybe because it's similar to what I'm used to but, after looking at several others, it just kind of feels right to me. But I don't want to buy in hast so I'd like to look at others which might be considered competitors to the Fender.

I also just wanted to say - This seems like a great community. I'm new but everyone has been so helpful and friendly. It's great!

Now I'm completely baffled. The pics from the link are of a max $300 bass. The bottom description is from a $1200 quality parts bass. Are they claiming to be the same company?
Basing my observations from 30 years music retail.

If I understand correctly, you saw and played one of the higher priced P's at their shop. Did it look, feel and play like a better bass than your VM? Yeah, comparing a P to a J and all, but overall quality should be there.

The VM Squiers are pretty nice. Even a random MIM Fender may not be an obvious improvement.

Look up Mystic Bass on Reverb. I found their store and it looks like they sell a ton of pre-wired kits and pickups. Their feedback is excellent.
My guess is it has quality wiring and decent pickups. Although I’m not familiar with Entwistle pickups. The body material, neck, tuners are most likely from China with their logo stamped on the headstock.

Doesn’t mean it’s not a decent playing bass but for the most part you get what you pay for. I personally wouldn’t buy this bass sight unseen. However they do I have new item 14 day return policy on Reverb.

I did play one of the higher end P's and it seemed fine if a little heavy. They had the lower end J and the finish definitely wasn't as good although it seemed to play fine. If I'm being honest, I wasn't immediately smitten by it but there wasn't a particular reason why.

I'm starting to think what I actually need is a different amp. I don't really have any complaints about the playability or feel of the Squire but it's more ringy on my amp than it is where I take lessons or when I use headphones.

My current amp is a Behringer BT108 but I'm considering maybe Fender's Rumble 25 or the Orange Crush 25. Haven't actually looked at them yet but the reviews are positive.
