N B(ook) D! Mel Bay Walking Jazz Lines

Got this in the mail today (came early!) I recently got Aebersold book 1, but its not bass specific, so I wanted something to compliment it. I'm looking to mature my lines a bit, as I find I rely on 1 3 5 for most of my jazz playing. I notice the play along tunes are "similar to" standard jazz tunes, not sure how I feel about that yet.

That's an excellent book. I think the "similar" tunes has to do with copy right. They are close enough to the standard tunes IMO.

Thanks, good to know. I saw it recommended in a few threads, and it seemed concise. I figured as much on the tunes, I guess it will help me with mental flexibility
