I just bought one of these, head only with no cab. Very punchy and surprised me with the amount of volume for 50 watts. I have only a few hours experience a couple of years ago with a real B15 so my opinion is heavily qualified but I'm saying it cops that vibe much better than any B15 styled pedal I've tried.
It's very hissy though. And the magical light on the front panel doesn't work. Might be straight off to the local tech I think.

A failed electroluminescent panel is a common fault with these amps. Maybe you’ll get lucky and it’s something simple.

I'll consider it a bonus if the light gets working Just had a couple of hours running it through an old shelf-ported cab with a JBL K140. It's a keeper.

View attachment 2625592 I wonder is this amp can handle a four ohm load - in which case you can get more power by changing the speaker. If there is a separate jack for an extension speaker, you can check to see if it connects to a diffent tap on the transformer - or if the two speakers run parallel for a 4 ohm load. Also, note in the attached image that there is an ultra high function. Did you try pulling the knobs to switch it on?

I have my original BT-15D which has a 15" in 2 separate cabinets. I've had this thing since 1968. Yes, I'm old. One cabinet had the speaker replaced with a JBL-K15, which does make a nice sound. The JBL is much thicker so the Portaflex top doesn't flip into that cabinet. The 2 cabinets can be positioned in top of each other, screw together, and then stand about 4 1/2' tall with the dolly under them. Looks good. Plugging in the 2nd speaker cabinet drops the ohms down to 4 which gives it the 100 Watts RMS. (see brochure above).

Ive never seen these before. Whats the sound? Im thinking like a big BA type combo, or is it more kinda V4B/SVT territory?
